i have an eight qt oil pan.

does that mean that to fill, it takes 8 qts PLUS another ~qt for the filter and remote lines (no cooler)? this is what i assumed when i marked the dip stick when i first filled the pan when new. but, i think someone here on this forum corrected me and said that 8 qt pan had an allowance for the oil filter.

i could call JEGS and ask, and will if no knowledge is forthcoming.

thanks.

8 quart capacity means 7 qts in pan and 1 in filter according to Cannon tech.

i just read the details on my pan, should have looked there first. it takes 8 qts plus filter.

"Ford, Small Block - Low Profile, Front Sump
8-quart capacity plus filter."
