This weekend (Sept 30 - Oct 2) was the 4th Snakes to The Lake. My first, and what a great time. The turn-out was less than previous years with only 35 cars, due to unfounded fears with rain, etc. Whoever, as it turned out, it was perfect. Temps in the high 60's to mid- 70's, lows in the 20-30's. Mostly FFR's and Superformance, a few ERA's, one slab side, and a Unique [^] After having my butt firmly planted in the seat for 300+ miles, this winter's projects included some additional cushioning [xx(]

My son-in law joined me, and with the majority being couples, we ventured out on our own and drove around the Lake (apprx 100 mi) on Saturday visiting friends who live in Incline, a stop at the Hyatt for some soup and a brew, through Kings Beach, Tahoe City, Emerald Bay, and back to South Shore for a few "adult beverages" before a fabulous dinner at the Chart House [^]

Emerald Bay turn-out one of the most beautiful views in the world, and people stopped to take pictures of my car! [?][^]

Alan - Always [:P]:D

Phil & Will - The "famous" propeller hat didn't make the trip. The car was running so bad due to the altitude (lack of O2) it would start cutting out at 3500-4000 rpm..... barely enought to get that prop spinning ;)

Phil- I was going to ask you how the car ran at that altitude, I've been up there with work and the older carberated trucks would hardly run. I don't know the altitude at the lake, but I know your over 7500 ft just before you drop into the valley.
