I need a little help. I bought a 392 stroker from Ford Racing. The engine came with a Victor Jr. intake which is pretty tall. When I put the carb and air cleaner on the air cleaner sticks up about 2 inches above the motor opening. Without the air cleaner I've got about an inch to spare.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? Did you end up changing the intake? If so, what did you replace it with?

I'd appreciate anyone's experiences.

Thanks,

There is a thread on this somewhere about a 351W with this same manifold. Search the site...It may have been JU talking about his engine build.

Search under "victor" and you should get a bunch of hits.

Are you using a carb spacer? You could try a drop-base for the air filter, it's what I use (Air Gap).

Go to search and type in "air cleaner" and look at Super Victor Jr and Victor Jr Air Cleaner to see pictures of what I did.

Go to CC and search for posts from arubacobra (sp?). I remeber that he has a very tall engine and was able to get it to fit. Someone should PM him and invite him to join out group.
