After two years I have decided to tackle the carpet in the trunk. The side panels installed without any problems, however I am looking for any advice on how to finish off the floor around the gas tank. I was considering adding a filler panel on either side of the tank, however simply using two layers of jute padding over the tank may suffice. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Gerry,

I didn't use any jute on mine - just measured, sprayed, and applied (don't keep your head inside the trunk to long... that adhesive will give you quite a buzz).

Yeh Phil...Stoned for free.
Thats how I did my tank carpet.....glue and apply.
Has held up well for 15 years.
The slip in side panels are starting to look a little worse for wear,
but they get put in and taken out quite a bit. ( to store stuff.)

Mike,

That stuff is $20/can.... so it's not exactly free ;)

Phil and Mike,

Thank you for the responses. You have saved me a lot of unnecessary work.
