well guys........
after talking with allen yesterday i figured i would post up some of my
trials and tribulations of running sticky tires with a jag rear. as they like
to say on mythbusters...."dont try this at home...we are trained professionals"
first pic looks like a standard jag hub....just a couple of minor problems.....
second pic shows the minor problem......
third pic is another crack on the other side....
soooooo to aleviate this problem i decided to go with concours west billet
hubs, they should be here mon/tues of next week.
i'll post up some pics and let ya know how they look when i get em...
by the way both of my rear hubs are cracked in the same way, this makes
three i have broken. for my life and the cobras i thought it would be a good
upgrade.
i'll post some pics tomorrow of other broken parts.....lets just say the diff
will have 3.73's,a auburn pro,and lots of other new parts.
the last pic is my sway bar upgrade,2.125" and 155 lbs,if the one on the
car is good, bigger is better right ?????
now if i could figure out where all the little parts go...................

chris

the sway bar is actually its a rear bar off our freightliners.....i have 31 in a pile, free for the asking(you pay shipping).......

Excellent Chris, I am glad to see you are enjoying your car! Did you ever get it down to the track to see how fast it ran ?How much are the billett hubs? How sticky are the Hoosiers you run compared to the Nitto Drag Radials? I now have a second rear set of wheels and I do plan to try the Nittos.

What brand tires are you using?
What type of racing are you doing to get that much breakage on those parts?
How much horsepower are you putting down?
Need more info. please!!

justin,
nope, i haven't made it down the track yet,i was trying to get to orlando
before unique in may,but it doesn't look like i will have the time with all
work i am doing to the car. i have not tried the nittos but have heard nothing
but good about them. the billet hubs should be here monday,i'll let you know
how they look.

i think part of the problem with the hubs are they are 20+ year old parts and
the corrosion is causing the weak points where the cracks start. maurice said
good used hubs are getting hard to find and i would pay 300-400.00 for
each one unrebuilt, the billets were 750 for the pair......not a hard choice.

the hoosiers are like bubble gum,i put about 5k on this set, overall they were
one of the best mods on the car for the money.

dave,
i am running the regular quick times, not pros. maurice recommended them a
couple of years ago,i will probably not use anything else, very happy with em.
i am not doing any really organized racing, just generally beating on the car.
i will freely adimt i am VERY hard on my toys cause i enjoy it.......
the engine is making 430hp/430tq to the rear wheels,so probably close to
500 engine. the scary part is this is with out of the box victor jr's,i talked
with a couple head porters and with a step up in heads there is at least
another 100 hp in my combo. i am pulling the engine this fall and freshening
it,may do the head thing then(it has 22k on it now).
