Is there any way to touch up the jetcoating on my side exhaust pipes without having to remove them, send them off and have them recoated? I was using rubbing compound to remove a few stains and rubbed through the finish.

I scratched one of mine with a motorcycle jack, had to remove it and have it re-done.
Never have heard of anyone rubbing through the finish!!

Who did the finish the first time, sounds as though it was a little on the thin side?

I also just scratched one of mine with the damn lawnmower. So I can't use hi-temp semi-gloss black paint to touch it up??

Rick, My original coating was done by Unique's vendor. Not sure who they use. There were a number of dark spots that looked like spills of some sort. I use rubbing compound and almost all came out, plus it gave the coating a nice gloss. I had the last few spots down to small specks and kept rubbing when it went through. Should have quit while I was ahead.

I have a $25 coupon for Jet-Hot if anyone needs it.

The original thread failed to mention what color the jet hot coating was...
Black....white....metalized.
If they are metalic I don't think you have any option but to send them back
to Jet Hot.
If they are black or white the high temp paint will work fine.
There are two types of Hi-temp black on the market.....The semi-gloss
which drys with a real nice sheen to it and a matt finish which dry's
with a slightly loose finish until it gets up to temp.
I've been using the Semi-Gloss for 12+ years.....I even have a
masking template made up for each side of the car.....works for me.
Cheers....Mike

My pipes are metalized. I am trying to avoid removing them and sending them off for recoating. I'll just live with it.
