Lots of choices here, Pete. There may be some tangible differences between makes, but it's always best if you talk to someone who knows their stuff and can make solid recommendations on shock build, based on your car's weight, use, etc. Aldan, Bilstein, & Koni can all modify internal valving to your needs, and are generally viewed as quality stuff. QA-1? - don't know anything about them generally, but I think they're the same people who bought Carerra, which are ok too but not in the same league as the others.

A lot depends on your budget here; you can spend $2000 for 4 shocks and springs without much trouble, but you will get what you pay for, too.

Best bet is to call unique - I think they now use pro shocks which are great - I am running them, no compliants
