Well I’ve been fabricating again and made this piece for the car. I thought instead of telling you all (or y’all) what it was I would let you guess. :) What do you think this is?

Great answers:D :D, all wrong but I love it so far. now about that continental kit, I was wondering what to do with the spare. And now I'm thinking fender skirts too.:eek: :eek:
If it helps the piece is about 4" x 4" x 1 1/2"

I have a real good image in my mind of where you're going with this project. You are a wildman.. you're insane... In other words I just love it. Taking these great styling clues from the past and doing this "Retro" thing is over the top. And then to add fender skirts it's just .... like too much... flooding the senses with style. This says it all to me. You've created an instant new age neo-classic.

Geary, I am so glad that you have way too much time on your hands, the picture looks wonderful, it’s exactly what I was thinking, however tailfins are too 50’s ish, but add some wide white sidewalls and now we’re talking.:D
Thanks to everyone that participated I got a great laugh out of this, I think I’ll look around the garage for other stuff that might somehow be used on a Cobra. Another reason to never throw anything away.:D

I know everyone will say "I thought that was what it was" but

I actually thought that. The only reason was the angle of the cut on the bottom of the box tubing. When I mounted my filter mount on the same cross member you did it tilted forward and I had to cut it at an angle to make it stand straight up. That cross member lays forward.

The mount looks very cool

The only other bolt center I could come up that could require nuts welded in with that thread type and size was the rear trans mount.

Is it low enough for you to be able to pull the cam out without having to lift the motor. That is why we bolt the filter remote to the frame.

I don’t think my earlier photo shows the location very well, the mount is on the suspension cross member.

Now before you point out that I have blocked the lower radiator hose hole remember that mine will be moved to the passenger side.
