Well I was invited by Fishtail from the Mid Atlantic Cobra owners Association to attend one of their track events this Saturday at MIR
in Budds Creek, MD.
Beautiful day!And a lot of fast Mustangs.
I got to make three passes before they kicked me off the track.
Best run was a 12.06 @ 120mph with a 1.89 60'

I drove to the track and ran it with my street tires and babied it off the line.

It was a lot of fun but I wish I could have been able to run enough times to bust into the 11's.

There is a video of my 12.06 run.

I am the third run in the video.

Jim, is the power washer supercharged?:D

Phil, MIR for some reason wants the top on. Besides it hides the fact that I don't have a 6 point rollbar.

One of the club members said that when they have a club event at the Mason Dixon Speedway there is no tech.

Not bad for a top that is rated at 65mph.

I guess you can bump the rating up just a bit. :)

I did add some snaps at the top of the side screens to fasten it to the top and I do have the windshield brace.

A 3:73 gear would help.:3g:

Not too many cars can go out on street tires and run a 12:06. With the MPH you have, your car would most likely run an 11:30 or better with softer tires and 60ft.

How was the wheel hop?

Comment on the top.

I have the MG style windshield brace installed and cruising at 80 MPH+ is routine with side curtains. I limit to 65 MPH without side curtains.

Justin,
No wheel hop.

I sat at the tree like I was at a traffic light going to church on Sunday.

In first gear with my right foot on the brake. Took off easy so as not to spin the wheels.
With my street tires I don't have any wheel hop anyway.
With the road racing slicks I have run they will give me wheel hop.
The car was like it was on a rail. Solid as a rock.

Rick,
If I went to a 3.73 I would want to change to a five speed.
Then again I could just change to a five speed with a wide ratio gearing.[thumb]
:3g:The kicker is I didn't get to run enough to try out different launches.
I know I can break into the 11's just the way the car sits.

Well Geary now you know you are good to at least 120mph with the side screens in.:D

I thought that the Supersnake, and/or supersnake replica, was good for 200mph :D
