Man, I am really tempted. Do you still have them? Why are you getting rid of them?

Phil- if you haven't already tried the Yokes you will be pleasantly surprised. Getting high performance 15" tires is becoming a real issue anymore. Sadly, Yokahama is going out of our segment.

COBRAGAR,

I just realized the serial numbers on our cars are one number apart... never noticed that before. I would like to talk to you about taking those tires of your hands. You can either send your tel # via a PM or e-mail me at philgermond@yahoo.com My number is 916-223-4622.

Thanks, Phil

Santiago,

Noon, straight up and the FedEx truck pulls up. Everything arrived, including that little treat box you included (very much appreciated). I still have quite a bit of rubber on my original BFGs, and they really do roll well (guess I got lucky) - I'll most likely melt some rubber off the rear 295's and then put the four Yokos on this winter.

If this were eBay I'd rate you a AAAAAAA++++++ [thumb]

Thanks again!!!

Well, I've had these stuffed away in storage (my son's basement - and he's moving) so I had them mounted and balanced today. Awesome looking tires, and from what I've heard the performance is very good. Sold my set of BFG/TA's for $100, which almost covered the cost of M&L. The temps have been in the 70's, so with a little luck I will get out and see how these track at 100+.

Yeah, you just had to rub it in, didn't you? :)

Was 9 deg. when I left the house, which means it probably fell another 1 or 2 degrees before reaching the bottom this morning.

Yes, it's supposed to get up to 69 degrees today!

I think it was a record high yesterday. Warm for this time of year, even for Northern California.

But I'm not complaining!

Hey Phil, hope to see you tomorrow at the NorCal meetup.

Ahh yes, one of the reasons so many people live here in California, been here almost 20 years myself, don’t miss the –26 I experienced in Montana or that white stuff that falls from the sky. Still room for more if you want to come on over, bring the cars and forget about that winter storage nonsence. [thumb]

First the tires - I have discovered a mini drag strip out by the local Indian Casino - not a quarter mile, but new clean pavement. They spin true at 108 mph, no vibration anywhere from 0 to 108. At 70 mph on the freeway they feel perfect. I'm very pleased - just a shame Yoko stopped making them.

The weather - Sorry to hear about the bitter cold back there. I was watching the national weather news a couple of days ago, and the range of temps across the U.S. was amazing. I'm headed to Mexico for a week of fishing and Super Bowl festivities soon and I'm going to feel cheated if the weather stays as nice as it has been here. And yes, there is plenty of room for all of you out west - I'm sure the State of California will welcome new tax-payers with open arms.

Jim - I'm planning on the 3rd Saturday meet in Folsom tomorrow. Hope to see you there.

Rod,

It's actually a bypass from Sunset to Fiddyment - it has curves, but some good straight ways, and nothing but grassland on either side. I discovered it when it was first opened about a year ago. It comes out half-way between the Casino and the Landfill. I usually drive down it from Sunset checking for radar and obstructions..... make a U on Fiddyment - come to a stop and then hammer it. Today there was an older couple in a pick-up coming from the Casino who turned on it right behind me when I made the U. I would have paid to see the expressions on their faces when I launced :D

Scott,

Good to hear from you. I have to admit, I am very fortunate. God knows I tried my darmndest to screw my life up when I was much younger - just dumb luck that things worked out the way they did.

Set a record here today, 70 deg and 20 Cobras for a January lunch (I wish I could share some of this weather you and others).

Yes Ralph, for now at least.

Finally back to making headway... now that the bumbler, I mean plumber:eek:, is out of the picture:rolleyes:! I knew I should have gotten a vacation for Tony down here! Drywall is pretty much done.

Getting ready to run trim, prime walls, and set doors and sub-floor over the concrete (for wood) and then get the mechanical guys back in for the trim-out. Maybe we'll be in within a few months, but only if we :3g:!

Paul,

Where have you all been living for three years?

Slither
January 19th, 2009, 08:16 PM
Tony, remember that little black utillity trailer we were towing when we came through? There really isn't that much room in there, and as much as you might think that we were staying in there... we haven't;).

We spent much of the first year and a half bouncing around. We spent 8-months in a little RV we fortunately have. Next, we've been in the FEMA/MEMA units and with relatives. Hopefully the cottage will be done really soon[thumb], and then we'll start the house. It has been a real trial, but... heaven knows it could have been much much worse.

No, because the walls on them are so thin that it rains inside when the temp drops below... say 35 degrees or so... condensate forms on the ceiling and walls/windows and drips:(. Takes more to heat and cool it...

Paul, glad to hear that your still moving forward, sorry to hear that it's taking so long. Is your area still short of skilled workers? Or has the government bogged things down?
