Well the stimulus bill has passed so we shouldn't have to worry about anything now. I'll bet a six pack that the fairness doctrine will be one of the next big issues up for our appointed ones to vote on.

Unfortunately you may be right. Ex-pres Bill has already been honking about how he'd like to see the Fairness Doctrine reinstated (funny, I don't remember it being in place at all previously).

Look for it to be called "localism" this time around.

It is an extremely disturbing breakneck-speed push this country is in towards far, far left socialism. IMHO.

the republicans f****d up this country for the last 8 years, now it is the democrats turn to do the same. I imagine most of us could be lumped into the middle class.. All you millionaires stop reading this post now. Simply put, republicans only care about the wealthy, reverse robin hoods taking from the poor to give to the rich. a lot of middle and low income people are republican because they want to be rich someday and don't want their imaginary money to be taken from them. Dems typically are associated with assisting the needy. Either way those of us in the middle get screwed! And yes I have BIG plans for the $400 or so I will get. I think i will donate it to an investment company or a bank to help them out of the current pickle..

If you want to give it to a bank just send it my way and I'll invest it in my car. That way you will be stimulating the economy by allowing me to invest in Unique Motorcar parts that will in turn help the Weavers stay up and running and we all are happy!

It seems this Sunday that the UN expressed that they should be part of the recipients of the stimulus package, why do they actually think they get anything done?

The sad fact of the matter is - It does not matter which team you belong to or root for - they are all crooks and in the game for their own benefit..... period!!!! The good old U.S. of A is not, and never, will be the same again, so get use to being turmoil from here on out. I think you guys that grew up in the 50's and 60's know what I am talking about. I have been telling people I am glad I grew up in the good old days, because they are now long gone........ sadly, forever. :(

"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.”
The late Dr. Adrian Rogers , 1931 to 2005

Thanks Ralph

I've maintained the Politically incorrect idea for years that any time a group singles themselves out they make themselves a target. Everyone screams equallity until they get it and realize that it's not what they want because it forces them to give up the coddling and heavyweighted inequality they've come to expect. Black History Month, Women in The Arts, Hispanic Month,................ Let's set August 15th thru September 15th as White American Male - Cracker Appreciation Month. Bet you'd never hear the end of minorities relentlessly screaming "Foul".

Diego - It's time for those who choose not to asimilate to move to Christmas Island not regular Americans.

Time to take it back. Ted Nuggent for Prez in 2012.

Rick,

That was well said. I hadn't realized that the good Dr. had passed.

Thanks Ralph. Interesting stuff.

OK, let's open a can of worms.

Question; what do they hope to gain by such dilution... i.e. what is the long-term benefit of the basic destruction of the American way of life? Are there any?

I've taken to watch Glen Beck on Fox News 5:00 EST. He seems the most passionate about it. I really am at a loss as to why folks would strive to destroy the American way of life except that they don't think the changes will apply to them, the Elite. One of the reasons that Pelosi and her crowd rushed the bill through was so they could leave(eight of them) for Italy on a military plane for a week of who knows what. I am really disappointed at the 3 folks in the Senate who could have stopped this bill from passing, all Republicans.

Moganthal, FDR's economic advisor in his memoirs catagorically stated that the stimulus effort they provided during the New Deal did not work. So why should we think things are any different now or that the results would be any different. Sad to say it took a War to get us out of the great depression. Regan used business incentives and cuts in government spending to get us out of the Carter inflationary recession we were in. George Santayana said something like. "Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it." Problem is I do learn from history and don't want to repeat it, but the idiots that voted for this bill are in charge...for now.

Ralph, those 3 are RINO'S, Republican In Name Only...let's see how they do in the next election.

Plus it's time for the party to turn back to it's conservative ways. Most of the republicans have no backbone. They won't stand up to the liberals, they get there *** kicked around and do nothing about it. All the ones who voted against the biggest ripoff in the history of this country will be rewarded. The liberals jumped on this boat all by themselves, now lets see how long it floats.

The state of affairs in CA are up to one Rep. He has the power to stop the state from raising taxes. Of course the Dems are screaming that if votes against it the first thing to go will be the Firemen and Police force, so buy a fire extinguisher and a shotgun. Or maybe cut out all the useless spending on illegals and other social programs.

I like that, "Rinos":D. I wonder if Maine will even remember by the next election... doubtful:confused:!

One thing is for sure... if the bus doesn't turn around soon, there isn't much chance of stoppin' it:(.

Rick nailed the problem about backbone... without it they have no chance to right anything, so you are correct:o.

But how about that South Dakota House of Reps[thumb]!
