Note that they made several stops to try to get the snake out of the car, but they couldn't find it. Who the he** would say to themselves, "Well, I know there's a deadly snake in the car, but I can't find it right now, so I'll just get back in and drive till I see him. Then, I'll pull over again and see if he'll get out"?!?!?!?
