Air cleaner clearance

I have a SA FE with very little clearance between the air cleaner and the hood. The air filter I'm using is 8 1/2 by 2 1/2 high. Does anyone know where I can find a filter that is 1 1/2 to 2 inches in hight. Thanks.

You need all the air you can get with a FE, if you have any clearance at all don't change.

I had a Summit oval filter assy.on mine but wanted more air, so I bought a K&N drop base assy. with an Xtreme top and a 1 1/4" drop. That put me too close to the distributor (Victor Jr. manifold) so I added a 1/2" carb spacer. I bought a new hood and bolt-on scoop to replace a damaged hood and this new set-up would work without the scoop. Perfect!
