Mother's Powercone

Has anyone ever used the Mother's Powercone to polish their side louvers while still on the car? Tape the paint edges so not affect the paint.

I like the brushed finish, lot easier to care for.

Alan, I like the brush look as well. I was just looking for a good way to clean the louvers while they are on the car. Maybe an old t-shirt and mother's will do the trick. The louvers are a little on the dirty side.

Scotchbright, mothers will make them shine.

Scotchbrite lubed with WD-40.

For a plain matte finish, just go round and round in little circles ("Wax on! Wax off!"). This is what I do on the engine compartment aluminum.

For a more mill-finish brushed look, go in straight lines. Doing this precisely enough to get the look correct is much tougher than it sounds!
