insulation

I have some old vintique insulation for under carpet. Won't use it because of getting caught in the rain and it retaining water too long. What is the preferance to use for these cars?

I applied several items... first, Lizard Skin Ceramic heat coating, follow by Lizard Skin Sound coating, DuraMat (heat and sound), double side foil backed car sound fibers/wool and carpet on top of all that. Also, drilled drain holes in foot wells if water does get there.
