Finishing Aggressor

It's been 12 years of sporatic upgrades and I just received the final major pieces for my CSX3015 replica. I've been tying to hunt down NOS Girling "Powerstop" remote brake servos as installed on the original Cobra in the late 60's. While somewhat sucessful in my efforts I decided to install similar new British Lockheed units instead of rebuilding original units. I have the basic layout and installation completed for the vacuum related components. The brakes lines have to be extended yet to the front of the car to the servo locations. The servos are rated at 1.9 to 1 boost ratio and do not boost on light braking.
I have installed a reserve vacuum cylinder as in the original car to cover light to no vacuum conditions with the supercharged engine.

Just a followup.

With about 3,000 miles on the new brake servos they are a most welcome addition to my Unique. The 2,000 mile round trip to Homecoming and other sites along the way
to Alabama was the system's shake-down cruise. The pedal pressure is greatly reduced and they perform flawlessly. The only odd trait is that they hold pressure when at a
full stop for just a brief moment after you release the pedal. My wife's BMW has similar brake delay traits. BMW refers to it as ascent braking assist.

Good to hear Geary, glad it is working well. Any idea about the hold pressure? Is it a known issue?

Where did you find the servos? I see them on UK eBay but no sellers will ship to the US.

Dennis - The answer is no, but I am trying to keep the replica fairly close to original so I can't deviate too far from actual.

Paul - It takes but a moment or two to get used to and is not a problem. Just a very minor anomaly. By the way - Did you like the "Wizard of Homecoming" reference. I was kinda proud of that line of BS. I keep telling Sharon that "Intuitive Improvisation" is the mark of true genius. But alas I have yet to convince her.

Patrick - I ordered them though a friend's parts business. They were from British Auto Specialists in Surrey. He can get them through his shop for me for $287 complete with shipping charges to this country included. These are British Powertune kits that are very complete. The servos are complete with servo mounting brackets, servo nose support bracket, 2 spooled pieces of British bubble flair brake lines(6 foot I think), banjo fitting, vacuum hose, clamps, several one way valves, vacuum to servo fittings, and instruction manual. A Cobra setup like Aggressor's requires 2 kits. One for each brake line. If you're interested I can get them in for you. I created a steel mounting tray to bolt the servo support brackets to. If you study the above images you can see it. I bolted the tray to the front cross member.
